On August 16, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, accompanied by the Vice President of Colombia, Francia Márquez, made a notable visit to Colegio La Giralda. During their tour, they learned about the La Giralda Respira Paz project, which seeks to promote well-being and positive coexistence among students and teachers.

The visit included a tour of the school’s historical memory museum, an interaction in a preschool classroom, and an educational experience focused on socioemotional competencies. Additionally, they participated in the school’s urban agriculture initiative, planting a walnut tree as a symbol of their support for education and student well-being.

Finally, the visitors explored the Socioemotional Gymnasium, a space dedicated to developing healthy habits and socioemotional skills. This innovative effort has led Colegio La Giralda to be nominated in the Supporting Healthy Lives category of the World’s Best School Prizes.
